Mayor T. Chad Hollon
Hello and Welcome to Blanchester
Mayor Chad Hollon took over the helm as Mayor, January 1st, 2008. Mayor Hollon along with members of Council, park board and Zoning has created some bright and innovative ideals that will soon be apparent all over the Village.

Early January kicked off with the Parks and Recreation Department working toward, and completing, the rehabilitation of the playground in front of the Municipal Building. Our thanks and gratitude to those who have made such generous contributions.
Businesses are moving to Blanchester as well. The old Kroger building on Cherry Street has been sold to Auto Zone and plans are underway to open in the spring. B.I.C. had a grand opening Feb. 22nd.
Again in 2008 the Village offered support to Clinton County Community Action in hopes of getting a new senior housing development established in Blanchester.
There are many new faces in the Blanchester Village Municipal building and some have jokingly called it a “Bee Hive”. That could very well be true on many levels. This year we welcome, Sherry Cope, as our new Fiscal Officer. She, along with Marie Mays, our Fiscal consultant, has made many changes to our records keeping, our financial growth and security. Bernice Hoggatt, a 30-year veteran of the Clerks office, has stopped by to offer her support and the occasional much needed advice. We all appreciate all the dedication these ladies have shown toward the village.
The Village legislative body has new faces in 2008. Elizabeth Nichols was elected to council in November, taking the place of the outgoing Dave Wallace. Elizabeth brings to council a strong desire to see the downtown business area grow and develop into the nice and leisurely shopping place it once was.
Also on board is Jerry McMains. Jerry brings with him years of organizational knowledge and the strong desire to see the internal workings of the village run smoothly and efficiently in all aspect. Jerry is working hard to update and implement many policies and procedures that are mandatory by the state and to do overall improvements to the conditions of our streets, sidewalks and general appearance of the village.
Stephanie Howard is the new administrative assistant for the village. We all appreciate her willingness to go over and above the call, especially with so many council members, park board, fiscal office and the mayor having her wear so many different hats these days.
Generator up, running and a true asset to the Village of Blanchester.
During the power outage Thurdsay night Blanchester Village council got a first hand experience with the new generator. The generator was installed this past fall for emergency. Blanchester Municipal Building and Community Center has been designated as the emergency shelter & command center in case of tornado or other devastating event.
